Christmas Eve in Tokyo

Is not bad, but I miss home! I’m never going to miss Christmas again! It just doesn’t feel like it here. I’ve been told its just more of a “couple’s holiday” here. Anyways, we went to Sweets Paradise again (I thought once was enough – twice was for sure!) and saw all this on the way back to the station. : )

  1. Merry Christmas! I almost didn’t make it home this year and would have been very sad. But I hope you have a great Christmas away from home!

  2. Hi Allison, I left a note on an earlier post about your great blog, and how I was coming over.

You’re right! It just doesn’t feel like Christmas here, but that’s to be expected. Merry Christmas to you and your friends and family regardless!!

P.S. I was at the giant Starbucks in Shibuya, at a window seat, sketching away between 8-10:45 or so yesterday. I recognized the French cafe / restaurant in your picture along with the Santa bosozoku, haha. Maybe I managed to catch you in a drawing or two!

    • Thanks Ken, Merry Christmas to you too!!
How did you manage to get a seat there?! I have only been successful in doing so once!

  3. Allison, I think it’s just a matter of waiting it out? 3 times I’ve gone, and 3 times I’ve managed to get the same window seat! The wait has only been about 10 minutes, and I’ve come at peak times, as well (between 6 and 8 pm).

I have to say it’s amazing to watch the stream of humanity pass by, whether you’re an artist or not. It’s mesmerizing, and great fodder for writers as well I’d imagine!
