小金井 Koganei III (film)

These are the last of my pictures from Koganei – I swear! I’m going to do Hanami again today and tomorrow but I’m not sure I’ll bring my camera..or if I do, I’m not sure I’ll take any more pictures of sakura! It seems like I have hundreds of cherry blossom pictures on my computer! I’m not sure they ever get boring to look at in real life though. I was running yesterday and I saw that a river nearby was pink – the surface was just covered in fallen petals!

Selling mochi, which strongly resembles marshmellows but doesn't taste like them. They roast it like this then slather it in a shoyu sauce.

Chewy and salty-sweet. Mmm.

Sayonara Koganei. I need to go get ready for my next adventures.

Oh, I’ve had a couple of questions in the comments of my last few posts that I should answer!

1. Do the trees and cherry blossoms have a scent?

– Hmm… I haven’t noticed any flowery scent around them actually. Maybe I’ll go close up and see if there is one today..

2. Do people go to hanami everyday?

– Well, I’m trying to! No not everyday, but at every chance I can – which seems to be what a lot of people do. The parks are incredibly full on the weekends so I think many people go both Saturday and Sunday. As for the lonely people who get to wait at the park all day for their coworkers – I guess if that were me I wouldn’t mind getting to pass on work if all I had to do was sit under the trees all day!

  1. Hi, Nice to meet you.
    It’s my first post!

Some of your picture are very artistic, I like them!
The cherry blossom season in this year is one of the best one among recent years, I think. Weather is great, and they are in full broom for long time! So enjoy!

  2. I don’t think these would ever get old. They have great vintage feel to them, and I’m sure you’ll love looking back on these.

  3. Thanks for answering my question :D Ah, so those people who get to wait at the park for the co-workers get the permission from the company, I see. That’s nice :)

  4. I hope you went on the sled ride, because that looks like nico-baby-hella fun… hahaha
