金魚 * Kingyo Cafe

Another adorable cafe we stumbled upon the other day while hungrily looking for somewhere we could all agree on for dinner near Yoyogi station. This place was fun and delicious. Its definitely going onto my Food & Drink guide.

Here’s the website (in Japanese):http://www.kingyo-cafe.com/

Menu items included loco moco, taco rice, and kabocha (pumpkin) curry

Taco rice - rice, lettuce, seasoned ground beef, tomatoes and salsa. This is one Japanese take on Mexican food that I really can't argue with.

Kabocha curry with rice and salad. Just a little bit sweet..mmm

I apologize for the poor quality of the pictures, it was a little dark in there.

The interior was a little bit like a 70's style living room - we were actually sitting on love seats and foot rests and eating off of a coffee table.

The walls were an open gallery artists can apply to display their work in. I think some of these were done by staff members.

The number of unique and creative cafes in Tokyo really amazes me. Ben is taking a class about creative business in Japan, maybe we could persuade him to do another guest blog about this topic…
