Well-known modern Japanese short stories. Original Japanese on the right. Direct, line-by-line translation on the left. After something appears more than once or twice it will no longer be translated, so I have to read the real text. Cool way to study huh? Fellow Japanese learners: you can probably find it online.
I’m currently reading “Kamisama” by Kawakami Hiromi
I’ve already got so many 日本語 study books…but I might be interested in that one too!
Did you buy it in Tokyo? How much was it?
Thanks.

I bought it in a bookstore in the “Joinus” side of Yokohama station. I think it was about 2500 yen. There was also one in the same style that was essays, rather than fiction, by contemporary Japanese authors. Good luck!
Thanks.
I just added a post about studying Japanese.
It’s here: http://tokyo5.wordpress.com/2008/11/09/study-japanese/
Can you understand it? Too easy?
Thanks for commenting on my blog.
I just replied to your comment…here:
I will have to buy this some day,
when I actually understand enough kanji to read that!
